As the mayor of Amesbury, representing the town council and the people of Amesbury, I am pleased to say that we had a really good turnout at our recent election open days.
Amesbury residents came along to see what the town council does, and to register their interest in becoming a councillor.
It is important that we get more than 16 people standing to force an election, and I would urge any Amesbury resident who would like to stand, and who couldn’t make the open days, to contact the town clerk on 01980 622999 for information.
The closing date for nominations to the returning officer is April 5, so don’t leave it too late.
JAN SWINDLEHURST, Mayor of Amesbury
