SALISBURY City followed up Darrell Clarke's appointment with the arrival of five new players.
Kayne McLaggon has impressed in pre-season, scoring three goals.
The 19-year-old Welsh youth international played in the Championship for Southampton but an Achilles injury hampered his progress.
The striker, who had a loan spell at Eastbourne Borough last season, can also play out wide.
Matthew Wright is another attacker, released by Crystal Palace having spent loan spells at Woking and Maidstone United.
The Eagles signed him from Swansea City, for whom he scored a goal at Old Sarum in a reserve game in 2008-09.
Young goalkeeper Tommy Smith comes from Portsmouth to compete with Ryan Pryce for the number one jersey, and he is followed from Fratton Park by two loanees.
Defender Perry Ryan and attacking player Ellis Martin are both 18.
Clarke confirmed that there may be more before the season opener at home to Stourbridge on August 14.
"As a manager you are always looking at players who can improve the squad," he said.
"We would like to thank Guy Whittingham (development coach) and Portsmouth for allowing us to have two of their young professionals on loan."
