WHITES boss Nick Holmes has confirmed that top goalscorer Matt Tubbs is poised to make a return to action this weekend.

Tubbs, who had netted 26 times in 34 starts prior to undergoing surgery on his knee last month to repair cartilage damage, came through this evening's training session at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium with flying colours.

Holmes said he sees no reason why the striker should not get 30 minutes under his belt for City's reserves on Sunday when they entertain Dulwich.

The City players who starred in Tuesday's crucial top of the table victory at King's Lynn all enjoyed a light training session ahead of Saturday's match with Hitchin Town.

"They're all fine," said Holmes who was able to see his charges working out on areas of the Old Sarum pitch previously out of bounds due to the recent inclememnt weather.

Adam Wilde and Matt Holmes also had a run out this evening, though defender Jon Beswetherick (heel) faces another week on the sidelines.

"His heel is a problem. It's still badly bruised so we decided it was best to rest things for a while."
