BEMERTON Heath Harlequins regained top spot in the Wessex Premier Division with a 4-2 derby win over Laverstock & Ford at Western Way on Monday.
Eddie Perrett gave the visitors the lead from a loose ball after Grant Porter had made a good save on 17 minutes.
Jack Slade headed in the equaliser from James Rowe’s cross five minutes later, and Kane O’Keefe put Heath in front in the 35th minute.
Matt Cox extended their lead a minute before the break, following a good move down the left.
Laverstock substitute Robbie Gallagher pulled one back with a great left-foot strike eight minutes after the interval.
Nick Eastham, making a rare appearance after moving north earlier this season, set up Joe Sanger to give the hosts some breathing space.
The game was watched by a crowd of 181 – a season high for Bemerton. They will do it all again on Tuesday, January 26, when the sides meet at Western Way for a League Cup quarter-final.
Bemerton go to Moneyfields on Saturday, while Laverstock travel to Blackfield & Langley.
Heath’s reserves are at home to AFC Totton, and Laverstock’s second string entertain Christchurch.
