SALISBURY City's future will have to be resolved in the New Year after talks between the prospective new owners, creditors and administrators were adjourned until January 5.
The club entered administration in September and hopes were high that a consortium led by Salisbury businessman William Harrison-Allan could complete a deal with the club's creditors, including Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, by November.
The investors now need extra time to consider the changes suggested by HMRC to the proposal that was put to them.
“It’s frustrating that it’s all taking so long,” general manager Nick Holmes told the club's website.
“We’d hoped it would have been done and dusted by November, but unfortunately, now it’s dragging on into the New Year.
“It’s not the Christmas present we’d hoped for, so it’s a case of everyone connected with the club getting on with business as usual.
“I know it’s frustrating for our supporters that there’s no good news about the situation - but we just have to carry on as we have done so far this season and in the meantime try to keep putting points on the board.”
