Wiltshire Senior Cup – 1st Round

SHREWTON United eased through to the second round of the Wiltshire Senior Cup with a 7-2 victory at Pewsey Vale on Saturday.
Pewsey took the lead with an unstoppable long-range shot on 20 minutes, but Shrewton rallied and were 4-1 up within 14 minutes.
Dean Foot equalised, Lee Weeks put them ahead, Foot got another and Craig Lewis scored the fourth.
Jesse Walters latched onto a through ball to make it 5-1 just before half time.
Lewis’ cross was turned in for an own goal, and although Pewsey pulled one back, Walters made sure Shrewton had the last say, making it 7-2.
Shrewton’s reward is a home tie against Hellenic League Division One West side Wootton Bassett Town, on Saturday, November 14.
Shrewton will hope to complete a double over Shepton Mallet when they host them on Saturday, having won the return game 3-1 in August.
“They beat Bradford Town 1-0 on Saturday, which was a good win for them,” said manager Stuart Withers.
“We found it difficult to break them down but if we score early, we can win comfortably.”
*The reserves are at Corsham Town reserves on Saturday.
