Tom Pearce struck a season's best 71 and Sam Pittman snared five victims behind the stumps, but neither was able to prevent South Wilts II slipping to a four-wicket defeat by Southern Premier Division 3 newcomers Hursley Park at Bemerton.
Pearce, who has been in particularly good form bowling his left-arm spin, hit eight four and a six and shared a 72-run partnership with teenager Alex Vincent (31).
But South Wilts' eventual 186-9 was below par as Hursley recovered from 49-3 to reach the tar with his 11 overs to spare, Melbourne-based all-rounder Paddy McNamara following his 3-17 return with a key 60 with the bat.
