A BOWLING club is gearing up for its annual open day to shed light on the sport.

Fordingbridge Bowling Club, in Stuckton Road, will be welcoming all to see what it's all about from 2pm on Sunday, May 21.

Organisers say it's an "excellent" opportunity for anyone to come and give the sport a go.

The club coaches will be on hand to offer free coaching and "demonstrate the art of bowling".

Those attending are advised to wear flat-soled shoes to protect the grass.

There will also be members to show people around the clubhouse where there are winter activities such as whist, canasta, table tennis and a variety of social events.

Andrew Copping, from the Fordingbridge Bowling Club, said: "Drop in and see what a sociable sport this is. We are not all silver-haired!"
