ARCHIE Lovegrove was a head above the rest as Laverstock & Ford romped to a 7-0 win over basement boys Blackfield & Langley – with the striker notching four headers.
Fresh off the back of defeating lowly Alresford 1-0 in midweek, Lavvy continued their resurgence when Lovegrove opened the scoring after 10 minutes.
However, he had to wait until deep into the second half to complete his hat-trick.
Jake Rawkins quickly doubled Lavvy’s lead one minute after Lovegrove’s opener, before the scoring entered a lull until the end of the first half.
Chae Sykes made it three moments before the break, sending the hosts on their way to back-to-back league wins for the first time this season.
Lovegrove restarted the scoring with 20 minutes remaining, before notching two more goals in 11 second-half minutes.
Substitute James McSorley came on to add further gloss to the score line, the extra goal resetting Laverstock’s goal difference back to zero after starting the afternoon on minus seven.
Victory allows the Bulldogs to leapfrog three other teams near the foot of the table, rising to 14th after 10 games played.
Lavvy will be on cup duty this weekend when they visit Hellenic Premier League side Bradford Town in the first round of the FA Vase.
At this stage of the competition, winning sides will receive £825, whilst losing sides will still earn £250.
