THE Chicago Marathon was Nick Lay’s first major marathon.
He overcame cramp to beat his previous personal best by 19 minutes, in a magnificent time of 3:49:21.
Jake Stewart also ran very well to finish in 5:09:39.
There were many fine performances in the Bournemouth series of races.
In the Supersonic Half Marathon, Jaymee Domoney raced 10K for only the second time and finished in first place in a superb time of 1:08:00.
In the Supersonic 10K, Matthew Gervais bagged himself a three-minute personal best in a time of 36:45, whilst his dad, Dave Gervais, recorded a respectable 40:09.
In the Supersonic 5K, Lee Syrett was first in the V35 category in an excellent time of 17:42.
In the junior races Emily Bryant ran 9:02 in the 2K, while her brother Samuel ran the 1.5K in a personal best time of 7:32.
The Westbury 10k was run on a nice mixture of trails, road and grass. Chris Simm earned third place in 40:28.
CoSARC Ladies B and C teams won HRRL B Division One and B Division Two respectively.
