THE White Star Running Cider Frolic is a 12-hour race consisting of 6km laps, made up of a variety of off-road tracks around a farm.
Best running buddies Lee Syrett and Matt Bosworth took on the challenge of completing as many laps as possible. A combination of grit, determination and stubbornness saw them complete multiple laps of seemingly never ending hills in very hot weather. Lee managed a superb nine laps, a distance of 54km, in 5:30:00. Matt outdid Lee by finishing an astonishing 12 laps, 72km, in under eight hours.
Mike White took on another hilly race in the Exmoor Trail Marathon, in which he overcame 5,687 feet of elevation in an impressive 6:42:00.
White Star Running’s Adult Piggy Plod 10k, at Myncen Farm in Minchington, Dorset, attracted a field of 164 competitors.
It was a challenging route around uneven farm trails over undulating ground. On a warm and breezy morning Kieran McManus finished ninth in 53:20.
Salisbury parkrun was run on a muggy and sticky morning. Nick Lay ran a PB time of 21:55.
