SHREWTON United made an immediate return to winning ways, thanks to striker Dean Foot's second hat-trick in as many weeks.

The result leaves Weston stranded at the foot of the table but Shrews boss Stuart Withers was full of praise for the strugglers, saying it was a match that could have gone either way.

He said: "You've got to give them credit after the hammering they had the week before. We missed chances, but so did they."

Weston twice went ahead and led the Shrews 2-1 at the break.

But Foot made sure of the three points with two second half strikes, latching onto passes from Craig Lewis and Jesse Walters.

His manager joked: "He's in good form but I've often told him he'd be better off spreading his goals about - we'd probably win a few more points that way!"

The Shrews face a tough game on Saturday, when they travel to high-flying Sherborne Town.

Withers added: "I think they're the best team we've faced, so it won't be easy but we'll have a full squad available for selection and we'll give it our best shot."

Shrewton's reserves led against Calne Town in their Wiltshire Premier League meeting, only to end up capitulating 3-1.
