DARRELL Clarke scored five as Salisbury City cruised to a 13-0 win at home to Chalke Valley in this evening's Salisbury Hospital Cup tie.
Clarke netted in the sixth, 22nd, 69th, 77th and 89th minutes to underline his claim for a place in City's first team ahead of Saturday's Blue Square Premier match with Burton Albion.
Whites fielded a strong line-up for the visit of the Wiltshire League side and were in front after just two minutes through Liam Feeney.
Clarke made it 2-0 four minutes later to effectively end any hopes of a cup upset.
Feeney's second on 21 minutes was quickly followed by Clarke's second.
Chris Weedon's deflected long range effort put City 5-0 up on 30 minutes before Tim Bond got in on the act, thumping home number six on 38 minutes.
Triallist Danny Wring sent City in 7-0 up at the break.
Bond headed home number eight on 59 minutes and Robbie Matthews made it nine four minutes later.
Clarke brought up double figures on 69 minutes completing his hat-trick and then bagged his fourth on 77 minutes with a well-struck free-kick, beating the five-man wall and the 'keeper.
Joe Fisher made it 12-0 on 82 minutes with Clarke completing the rout a minute from time.
