AFTER a lengthy lay-off, Chalke Valley blew off the cobwebs with victory at a hard-working Swindon Irons side.
Valley took the lead within two minutes, a sweeping move begun by the 'keeper put Dawes one on one with the Irons custodian.
The 'keeper won the initial duel but pushed the ball onto a retreating Swindon defender and it fortuitously rebounded into the net.
The Irons responded positively, drawing level with 11 minutes gone.
Valley regained the lead with the best football of the half, an intricate one-two beween Burley and Dawes setting the midfielder up to coolly slot the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
Chalke settled into a better rhythm after the break, a Judd volley extending their lead.
Judd was on hand again to score from a corner and make certain of the points, before the Irons pulled one back.
Chalke Valley visit CDR Dynamo on Saturday before meeting Salisbury City in the Hospital Cup on Tuesday.
