A STRONG and positive weekend for Luke Stapleford in Fife saw him gain a double second-place podium for Gearlink Kawasaki, the team's first podiums of the 2022 British Superbikes season.
Securing valuable points has spring-boarded Stapleford up to fifth overall in championship standings.
Stapleford said: "Really positive weekend, the team worked hard and managed to find me a bit more out of the bike.
"I think the result is a job well done by all. We will keep pushing to make up that last little bit and be fighting for race wins.
"Big thank you to Gearlink and the whole team, especially Tel wrestling the pit board all weekend!"
Teammate, Zak Corderoy was forced to sit this one out and could only watch from the sidelines following medical advice, as he suffered injuries from an accident at Donington Park whilst on the first lap of the Sunday warm-up.
But he was supporting his teammate and very pleased that Stapleford was able to clinch two second place trophies at the undulating Scottish circuit.
Team manager, Ben Wilson added: "Really pleased with how this weekend went. I feel we have made positive steps forward in closing the gap to Jack Kennedy.
"Luke had strong pace from the start of the weekend and maintained this throughout the rest of the meeting with two great podium finishes.
"Looking ahead to Brands Hatch, we will pull out all the stops to give Luke the bike he needs to challenge for race wins."
