CITY of Salisbury Athletics & Running Club ran a 'Couch to 5K' course, led by Colin Martin, Andy Webb, Denis von Roretz and Ruth Holloway.
The group was comprised of adults who had never run five kilometres before.
They included Clare Dickinson, Jill Charter, Jo Williams, Katherine Hirst, Merial Eaton, Natalie Smith, Richard Davis, Sam Hopkins, Stefanie Potter and Zoe Capstick.
Their tireless efforts culminated in them completing Salisbury parkrun on Saturday in some very impressive finishing times.
Other members of the C25K group completed their first 5k at the weekly CoSARC Wednesday club evening.
The following CoSARC juniors represented Wiltshire in the Inter-Counties Cross-Country Championships in Loughborough: Lizzie Norton, Milly Rayner, Daisy Badger, Sophie Wood, Francesca Cole, Sophie Hayakana, Esme White, Mim Grey, Jacob Earl, Daniel Robertson, Art Mitchell, Charlie Coles, Harri Choudrey. Sophie Nicholls represented Somerset.
A total of 344 runners took part in the Chippenham Spring 10-mile on an undulating course that was run on a mixture of road and trail.
The early rains receded, but left a stiff wind for the runners to contend with. CoSARC’s sole representative, Peter Callanan, finished eighth in a brilliant time of 1:00:19.
He earned himself a new PB to round off a good day’s racing.
Lynda Keech travelled to Scotland to take part in the Inverness Half Marathon. She finished in a time of 2:22:17.
Despite the windy conditions Mike White ran the Milton Keynes 20-mile in 2:20:20.
