THE Isle of Wight Ryde 10-Mile was the sixth match of the Hampshire Road Race League that was run on a blustery day, which made running a challenge.
The frequent hills gave the runners little time to recover during the race.
Anton Weatherhead finished in 1:00:39 in his first 10-mile race, Ollie Stone beat his previous personal best by a whopping 12minutes 53seconds, in a time of 1:09:10.
Guy Mitchell, in his debut 10-mile race and representing CoSARC in the HRRL for the first time, finished in a very creditable 65th place, out of a field of 593, in 1:11:32.
Charlotte Ingram led the CoSARC females home in a time of 1:11:57.
Derek Wood PB’d by two minutes 23 seconds in 1:12:06.
Anna Patrickson managed a personal course PB by five minutes in 1:15:22. Nick Lay PB’d by two minutes 47 seconds in 1:20:22.

At Salisbury parkrun, 13-year-old Thomas Dewey was first finisher in 17:28.
He smashed his previous PB by 39 seconds, a record for the 11-14 age category. Kieran McManus beat his previous parkrun PB by 11 seconds in a time of 20:39.
In the Portland Coastal Marathon, James Hassan was second in a field of 51 runners, finishing in 3:58:20.
Strong winds of 50 miles-per-hour battered the runners the whole way round a scenic, but very hilly course with 3,500 feet of elevation.
