CITY of Salisbury Athletics & Running Club had representatives across the south in the past week.
In tricky conditions at Sheldon School in Chippenham, some CoSARC juniors impressed enough to earn a call to represent Wiltshire in future competitions.
Art Mitchell was one of the standout performers, winning the year seven boys' cross country.
In the Romsey five-mile, Lee Syret led the CoSARC runners home in a time of 29:18. Samantha Noyce was CoSARC’s first lady, and second fastest female, in a time of 32:44.
She beat her previous PB by 1:09, while 15-year-old Milly Rayner ran a superb PB time of 34:44 to finish seventh fastest female.
Other finishers were Peter Manning 36:53, Lucy Coates 44:45, Tom Lay 49:52, Michael O’Connell 50:59, Amanda Ansell 52:47, Anne Norman 53:41.
Following his win in the Army South XC League five-mile race, Will Ewens was selected to represent Wiltshire in the UK Inter-County XC Championships in March.
After match three of the Hampshire Cross Country League, Anne-Marie Bayliss is top of the Veteran Women aggregate table. Imogen Gray is currently fourth in the under-15 girls league.
Across the pond, Jaymee Domoney beat his own CoSARC record by 2 seconds in the senior men's indoor 800m at the Carolina Challenge in Columbia, USA.
His finishing time of 1:52:11 qualified him to take part in the British Indoor Championships in February.
