SALISBURY City boss Nick Holmes has been named Blue Square Premier manager of the month for August.
Holmes' Conference newcomers closed the opening month of the campaign unbeaten, winning three and drawing two of their five games.
"I certainly won't be winning it for September," joked Holmes, who, as City fans know well, is not one for personal accolades.
"The manager of the month award is the kiss of death isn't it?"
September has not gone as well so far for the Blue Square newcomers who entertain Rushden & Diamonds tomorrow after back-to-back defeats at Histon and Torquay United.
"It's all about the players really - we got off to a good start so awards like this are really just a recognition of how well everyone's done. It's not just down to me."
City striker Matt Tubbs finished second in the league's player of the month poll.
Tubbs polled 33% of the votes to finish behind Cambridge United's Leo Fortune-West.
