YOUNG Davis Dore triumphed this weekend at the London Leon Paul junior series fencing competition.
The event, which attracted the top under 11 fencers across the country, was hosted where Team GB’s Olympic fencers train.
After progressing through the early rounds, Davis defeated Newham Sword's Tomi Fric 10-4 in the quarter-final.
In the semi-finals, Davis kept his cool to beat Oliver Hughes from Crawley Swords 9-8 on a sudden death priority hit.
And in the final, a change of tactics midway through the match paid dividends as he beat ZFW's Ben Turner 7-6.
Davis trains at Sarum Swords fencing club, which is open three times a week on Brown street.
Sarum Swords is run by John Routledge, who trains young fencers from the age of six.
