NEW recruits Mikey Joy and Marcus Savage helped Redlynch and Woodfalls twice come from behind to record a 3-2 victory over AFC Burton in Bournemouth Hayward League Division 1.
Goals from the pair, who signed from Downton FC, ensured Redlynch reduced the gap to ten points behind second-placed Burton, who require four points from their remaining two games to clinch the title.
The visitors went ahead with 20 minutes on the clock when Redlynch defender Adam Long charged down a shot which ricocheted to Levi Ridealgh, and he did the rest from close-range.
The hosts got back on level terms when Dan Paddington sent a sweeping ball out wide to Tom Barter whose superb cross was met at the back post by Savage, who looped the ball back over the keeper from a tight angle.
Marcus Burgess, in the Redlynch goal, pulled off a brilliant save in a one-on-one scenario at the feet of a Burton winger.
But on the stroke of half time, Burton broke on a counter attack and Simon Mapstone cashed in to restore his side's lead.
The second half saw Redlynch take the game to Burton and a mazy run from Kit Jackson on the right was headed into the roof of the net by Joy.
And the comeback was complete when captain Luke Charity sprung clear of the offside trap and shot straight at the keeper. The rebound dropped to him nicely but instead of re-shooting, he squared to Joy for the matchwinner.
Manager Paul Glover said: "I was delighted with the performance and it was probably one of the best team performances of the season, every player did their job, won their individual battles, and gave their all."
"There is a great feel at the club, presently, and it's exciting times, we are now starting to attract talented young local players to compliment what we already have at the club."
