MATT Tubbs' third minute minute goal earned Salisbury City all three points in today's Conference South match at Sutton United.
Tubbs finished coolly, sliding the ball under United goalkeeper Phil Wilson after being played in by Robbie Matthews' clever flick, to net his 24th goal of the campaign.
Whites dominated proceedings but failed to add to their tally. Both Tubbs and Robbie Matthews missed good chances to put the game beyond The U's.
Unfortunately, City's injury problems deepened with two players having to leave the field inside the opening 30 minutes - Alan Neilson was substituted on 17 minutes due to calf problems, while Danny Clay needed hospital treatment after suffering a nasty gash to his face after a high Sutton boot on 29 minutes.
City team: Clarke, Bass, Robinson, Cook, Neilson (Bes wetherick), Clay (Holmes), Fowler, Prince (Watt), Matthews, Tubbs, Bartlett. Subs not used: McGregor, Bulman. Att: 584.
