BUDDING Salisbury footballer Tori Adlam has been given the England Schoolgirls under 15s call up.

The St Edmund's pupil, pictured, was handed a glimpse of England life, competing in a series of trials, and got the nod ahead of 15 elite footballers from across the country.

However, mum Debbie was slightly concerned after Tori was played out of position in the south versus north match at Lilleshall National Sports and Conferencing Centre last month, but still managed to find the net.

Mrs Adlam said: “I prepared Tori for the worst.”

“Even though I thought she played well, you never know what scouts and coaches are thinking.”

“But when Tori opened the envelope and discovered she'd been selected, she was chuffed and overwhelmed.”

The 15-year-old's momentous moments in the England Schools' Football Association side will kick-start on Saturday against Scotland at St George's Park (2.30pm).

At the beginning of April, Tori has a tournament in Belfast, Northern Ireland and later on in the month she will be heading to Glasgow, for another match versus Scotland (1pm). “My dream is coming true,” said Tori.

“I love playing football and can't wait to represent the England Schoolgirls under 15s. “My long-term aim is to play for Arsenal Ladies and their captain, Kelly Smith, inspires me.”

Tori is still playing for Hampshire Centre of Excellence and is hoping to earn a spot in the side next season, which will be decided during trials in June.

The Adlams are still seeking sponsorship and anyone interested can call Debbie on 07900926002 or email debbieadlam@gmail.com.
