A SALISBURY teenager will be representing England next month at an equestrian championship.
Amelia Cripps, 13, has been selected to represent England at the Home International Endurance Championships which take place on the 10th and 11th of August in Kilkenny, Ireland.
The Home International Endurance Championship is a highly anticipated annual competition that brings together teams from England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland to showcase their equestrian prowess.
Amelia, who started endurance riding earlier this year, admitted feeling a mix of nerves and excitement ahead.
She said, "I am a little nervous as this is my first big ride, but I am also really excited and can't wait to represent England. I hope I do a good job!"
In the Championships, she will be riding Ruby bint Sabur, a 12-year-old purebred Arab owned by Liz Rowland. With Liz’s extensive experience in endurance riding, she has been able to share her expertise with Amelia.
Bella Fricker, the Chef d’Equipe of the England squad, praised their exceptional talent. “We are delighted with our final team. With such a huge pool of talent to choose from, the selection wasn’t easy.
"We have every confidence in the squad’s ability to tackle the Irish terrain, particularly with such established combinations to represent us.”
