Salisbury Racecourse has been named as one of the best racecourses in England and Wales.
It achieved top 10 status among racecourses in England and Wales, for race day experience in 2023, as part of the Racecourse Association’s, Quality Assured Racecourse Scheme (QARS).
The QARS, established in 2013, and carried out annually, provides every racecourse the opportunity to have its race day experience objectively assessed by a trained assessor from VisitEngland Assessment Services.
The assessments analyse all customer touchpoints including pre-race day information, the ticket buying process, the on-course experience, including all areas of customer service, as well as post-race day communications.
VisitEngland Assessment Services, responsible for all assessments in England and Wales, confirmed the top 10 racecourses for race day experience in 2023 were (in alphabetical order): Aintree, Beverley, Chelmsford City, Chester, Haydock Park, Ludlow, Newbury, Newmarket (Rowley Mile)*, Salisbury and York.
Salisbury was assessed at its Ladies’ Evening event in July.
The racecourse's marketing and communications manager, Emma Tranter, said: “We were delighted to have been awarded an overall score of 86.79 per cent when we were assessed by VisitEngland, at Ladies’ Evening last year.
"What made it even more pleasing was that the evening itself had extremely strong winds, which presented a number of operational challenges.
"Of course we are very pleased, but our focus now is very much on the season ahead which starts on Sunday May 5."
Tickets went on sale recently and there is more information about 2024 race days on the racecourse's website.
RCA Excellence Accolades were also awarded to racecourses that excelled in specific areas of the assessments, which for Salisbury included the Warmest Welcome and Staff Customer Service categories.
