A distinctly rusty Farley were well beaten by OTs and Romsey 2nds in Division 3 North.
With many of the side playing their first cricket of the year, Farley's batters struggled for fluency against a tidy bowling attack.
James Melhorn scrapped his way to an unbeaten 33 to lift Farley's total to 125 all out.
The same lack of sharpness was visible with the ball, with Romsey pouncing on the loose offerings. Though Farley managed to pick up four wickets, the home side completed the chase inside 18 overs.
It was a similar tale at home for Farley's second team, who lost by nine wickets to Ampfield & North Baddesley. Tom Pugh's 27 was Farley's top scorer.
The early finish at least ensured that all were present in time to celebrate club president Gwyn Blenkinsop's 80th birthday.
Families and a host of former players joined the party, making for a memorable evening.
