EMILY Bryant competed in the Stars Of The Future Open track and field event at Loughborough University, a location with a proven sports pedigree.
Everyone was impressed with the slick organisation on the day. Although it was a sunny day, with a moderate breeze, the sprinters were running into the wind which made fast times that much harder.
Bryant excelled herself in the under-13 girls races with silver in the 100m and gold in the 200m. She was excited to compete in the same competition as double Paralympic gold medallist Jonnie Peacock, who was also competing in the 100m.
Chris Simm fought well in the Battle of Sedgemoor 10k in Yeovil.
The scenery and superb race organisation could not disguise the fact the racers had to fight their way over two hills before the halfway point, before being rewarded with fairly flat terrain for the run to the finish. Simm finished in 39:31, equalling his 10k PB to the second.
At Salisbury parkrun, Matthew Gervais earned himself another PB with a time of 17:34 with a hard fought run.
The Main family siblings had cause for a triple celebration at Churchill Gardens junior parkrun when all three of them ran hard and fast to earn themselves PBs.
Jayden Main finished in 8:28, Ashton Main in 8:39 and Alexa Main in 10:24.
