MORE THAN 30 places of worship in and around Salisbury have benefitted with a cash boost supporting the protection of religious buildings. 

Across the country, almost 5,000 churches received money as part of a £42m conservation fund from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. 

With more than a million people across the county anticipated to attend Midnight Mass and Christmas Day services, many of the religious buildings frequented will have benefitted from the grant funding.
