SCHOOL summer holidays begin next week, offering the perfect opportunity for families to go flower picking.
Flowers of Hatch opened in 2006 and even though the weather this summer has not been the best for cut flowers, there is usually something of interest in the flower field throughout the season.
Situated in the village of Hatch, near Tisbury, the flower field has beautiful views of the Nadder Valley and children are welcome to run around. Weather permitting, you can picnic too.
There is no admission fee and you only pay if you want to take away some of the flowers, from as little as 50p for a small bunch, to £5 for a bucket. It is open seven days a week until October from dawn to dusk, and you will find picking tools and wrapping materials as well as how to pay (if there is no one there) in the summerhouse.
Directions to the flower field are available online at flowersofhatch.co.uk .
