SALISBURY MP John Glen has welcomed the news that Wiltshire Council intends to look again at the parking charge increases which have caused outrage in the city.
Mr Glen has written to council leader Jane Scott and transport portfolio holder Dick Tonge with recommendations for the way forward.
He said: “The council is listening right now and I would urge anyone affected by parking prices to now set aside their anger and contribute their best ideas towards shaping a fairer future.”
Journal editor and publisher Bill Browne handed over a 7,000-signature petition to cllr Tonge last week as he met with traders in the city who say the charges are threatening to push their businesses under.
And people are still signing up in support of the campaign.
