HAIR stylist Steve Hall is offering to pay parking fines for his clients if they get a ticket because their appointments have overrun.

“Either that, or we send someone out to buy an extra ticket to stick on their car,”

he said. “We will try anything just to help them relax in the salon.”

Mr Hall, who runs Heaven Hair in New Canal, said: “The charges have made our daily lives more stressful.

“The trouble is clients are turning up late because they have been driving round hunting for on-street spaces to avoid paying for two hours. That puts pressure on our working environment.

“They don’t want to spend money on parking. They are saying to us ‘hurry up’.

“But if they’re having highlights done, you can’t speed up a chemical process.”
