THE Journal’s campaign team will be in the Market Place on Saturday, giving shoppers a chance to add their names to the 6,000 who have signed up so far to call for cuts in Wiltshire Council’s new parking charges.
More traders have been coming forward all week with worrying stories about the impact on their turnover, but Wiltshire’s chief executive, replying to a plea for help from the city’s business leaders, offered no comfort. Tonight, council leader Jane Scott, is due to face the public at a “forum” in the Guildhall to discuss Wiltshire’s business plan.
