THE number of people signing up to support the Journal's Show Some Sense campaign has topped a thousand.

Posters have gone up in shop windows and on market stalls, and hundreds have signed up to our Facebook page to join our call to Wiltshire Council to take another look at the astronomical parking charges imposed on our city.

City Centre Management has warned that shoppers will look elsewhere and that the minimum two-hour charge in Salisbury’s car parks could put people off permanently.

And in this week's Journal we take a look at the impact the charges are having on the independent traders we value so highly in Salisbury.
