ALEXANDRA Stafford, 33, works at the Salisbury Pet Stores in Winchester Street.
She lives in Amesbury and rather than pay the new charges, she drives to her mother’s home in Harnham, parks there and walks in.
“It’s all right when it’s sunny but it’s not going to be so good walking back in the rain on a winter’s night,”
she said.
“But £7.40 a day works out at roughly a day’s wages a week on parking for me. I just can’t afford it.
“I won’t leave my car at an unmanned park and ride because it’s vulnerable – plus, there’s nowhere to go to the loo.”
