A WILTS & Dorset bus driver has been suspended pending an investigation after the Park & Ride bus he was driving got stuck under a bridge on Thursday.
The incident happened at about 12noon on Churchill Way East when it is believed the driver missed the turning and tried to take the next one, which led to Culver Street car park. The bus was stuck in the access road to the car park for about 30 minutes.
The Park & Ride service is run by Wiltshire Council, but Wilts & Dorset provides the drivers. A Wilts & Dorset spokesman said: “The circumstances are being fully investigated and we are unable to comment further at present.”
A spokesman from Wiltshire Council said: “As soon as we found out about the incident a replacement bus was sent to keep the service running. We are concerned that this happened and wait to see the results of Wilts & Dorset’s investigation.”
