PEOPLE dressed in rubbish paraded through the streets of Wilton on Saturday for the town’s annual carnival procession and fair.
There was a green theme at the event, with lots of imaginative costumes being created for the occasion using recycled materials such as cans, cereal boxes and crisp packets.
Organiser Gary Nunn said: “It was absolutely wonderful. Everything was perfect, the weather was fine and there were lots of people and a terrific amount of stalls. It was the best carnival we have done for five years.”
There was a living scarecrow competition as part of the event, with Alan Cathcart winning the adult section and Bradley Cave winning the children’s category.
