CATS with Fiddles, little mice and twinkly stars brightened up the week at St Osmund’s Primary School.
Youngsters had lots of fun with a nursery rhyme themed book week, coming in dressed up as their favourite characters and taking part in lots of activities designed to encourage them to enjoy stories and reading.
Teaching assistant Maxine Simmons, who organised the week’s events along with literacy co-ordinator Clare MacNeillie, said: “They all really enjoyed it and it was a good chance for the older children to lead activities. We wanted to have minimum input from adults and they did very well.”
Pupils enjoyed reading challenges, visits from a poet and storyteller and trips to Salisbury Library.
