POLICE are appealing for help in identifying a man in connection with an incident of theft and fraud in Salisbury.
At about 4pm on March 4, a man went into the Royal Bank of Scotland in Minster Street, handed over a cheque and passport to the cashier and requested £4,000 in cash from the account.
Although the man was able to answer all of the security questions, the cashier became suspicious and on further investigation the passport was found to be fake.
The man then stated that he had a meeting to attend and would return to collect his cash and passport before the branch closed, but never did.
The man is described as white, of slim build, about 6ft 2ins and in his late 30s to mid 40s. He had a lazy left eye and was wearing a scruffy suit. Anyone with information about this incident or who knows the identity of the man pictured is asked to contact DC Vicki Austin at Salisbury Police Station on 0845 408 7000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
