A CYCLIST died after being hit by a car on the A303 at the weekend.
The accident happened just before 3pm on Saturday near Yarnbury Castle, causing the road to be closed for just under four hours.
The cyclist, believed to be a foreign national, was travelling eastbound when he was struck from behind by a silver Mercedes ML280.
He died at the scene and has not yet been formally identified by police.
Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and would like to hear from anyone who saw the cyclist or the Mercedes prior to the accident.
