FORCES charity Help for Heroes has received a £500 boost thanks to a project to construct a replica aircraft.
After building a copy of the first aircraft to fly from Boscombe Down airfield in 1917, two of the constructors, Peter Shorten and David Acton, sold tools and equipment they no longer needed.
This raised £524, which was presented to Help for Heroes representative Gina Jones at the aeroplane’s new home at Old Sarum airfield.
