VIKINGS will be storming to a Porton primary school in July to take part in the village’s school and church fete.
Children at St Nicholas’ Primary School will be learning about Vikings in their topic work this term, so it was decided this would be the theme for this year’s fete, which will be held on July 17.
The Vikings, one of the UK’s oldest and largest period re-enactment societies, will be setting up camp on the school field and will be battling it out to entertain the crowds.
There will also be archery, pony tides, an assault course, various stalls and games, a barbecue and refreshments.
Individuals or groups can take part in a competition by making a Viking item or costume, with entries displayed on the day and judged by The Vikings.
The fete starts at 1pm. Contact the school for information on 01980 610401.
