A SALISBURY fundraiser’s hard work to raise money for the Breast Cancer Campaign has been recognised with a top charity award.
Selaine Saxby is the founder of Pink Aerobics and manages 50 regional events which are attended by about 2,250 people each year, while also running her sports bra company LessBounce in Netheravon.
She was presented with an Outstanding Contribution to Breast Cancer Campaign 2009 award on Thursday after raising more than £150,000 for the charity.
She said: “I am incredibly proud and would like to thank everyone who has taken part in Pink Aerobics who have helped us reach this massive target.
“Knowing that we’re helping to fund vital research which could eventually lead to a cure really makes all the time and effort worthwhile.”
Pamela Goldberg, the charity’s chief executive, said: “It is thanks to the continued support and commitment from people like Selaine that we are able to fund innovative world- class research to help us improve the lives of breast cancer patients and beat the disease.”
Pink Aerobics 2010 takes place in Hyde Park, London, on October 3, visit www.pinkaerobics.com for more details.
