A POLICE community support officer’s work has resulted in two arrests – only a short time after taking on a new beat.
PCSO Kuy Harrison was patrolling the Lower Bemerton and Churchfields area of Salisbury when he received information about a man acting suspiciously while sitting in a car.
He took details of the car and coverage from CCTV and made further inquiries.
The next day – June 11 – he went to look for the vehicle and found it travelling out of Lower Bemerton. He kept the vehicle under surveillance and called for assistance.
Officers stopped the car and the 46-year-old driver from Salisbury was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. He was subsequently cautioned for the offence.
The passenger, aged 37 and also from Salisbury, was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and was given a fixed penalty notice.
Salisbury sector commander Dave McMullin of Wiltshire Police said: “This was a first class piece of work by PCSO Harrison, as well as first class partnership working with the Salisbury City CCTV.”
