TO mark their return from a six-month tour of duty in Afghanistan, men of A Company 4 Rifles held a memorial service and then marched through the streets of Dorchester to the applause of thousands of well-wishers.
The parade, led by company commander Major Richard Streatfeild, was inspected by the mayor of Dorchester who welcomed them back and paid homage to the five riflemen who were killed during the tour.
This parade marked the end of a dangerous, but successful, eleven-month period of duty in Afghanistan for 4 Rifles.
A contingent from 4 Rifles will be on the Armed Forces Day Parade on Sunday - don’t miss it.
