ENGLAND and Great Britain’s women’s hockey player Alex Danson spent a day working with pupils at Wellington Academy.
She visited the school after its application to become part of the Sky Sports Living for Sport programme, spending the morning with the girls sports council and the afternoon holding a gifted and talented hockey session with a group of boys from years 9 and 10.
PE teacher Jonathan Strand said: “Alex Danson’s visit was a valuable and inspiring experience for the children. We are still talking about it now so it has definitely made quite an impact.”
