PARENTS across Wiltshire and Hampshire will be hoping to get their questions about the future of children’s cardiac services answered at a meeting in Southampton on Monday.
In May the Journal reported that Joanne Diaper from Salisbury was worried about how plans to cut the number of children’s cardiac units in the UK would affect her eight-year-old son Oliver. The family makes regular visits to the children’s cardiac unit at Southampton General Hospital, but could have to travel as far as Bristol or London for treatment if Southampton is one of the centres chosen to close.
A meeting on Monday for concerned parties to raise questions has been moved from the hospital to St Mary’s, Southampton FC’s ground, due to the number of people registering to attend.
For more information about the unit and details on registering go to www.oceanward.co.uk.
