A ‘TEXAS Scramble’ competition held by Salisbury and South Wilts Golf Club raised £2,050 for the Trussell Trust charity.
The trust’s events manager Mark Elling said: “Without the wonderful support of people like Salisbury and Wilts golfers we would not be able to do what we do.”
The club has already raised more than £4,000 this year for the trust, a Salisbury-based Christian charity, works with local communities to combat poverty and exclusion locally and in Bulgaria.
Club captain Paul Ford said: “I’m so proud that the club has raised so much for a very worthwhile cause.
“Our members were especially keen to support the Trussell Trust because it directly helps people in crisis in Salisbury and south Wiltshire, so it’s local golfers helping local people.”
“We had a great time over the two-day competition and the weather was amazing.”
