CHILMARK’S Festival – Chilfest - the first event of its kind in the village’s recorded history will be held from July 29 to August 1.
For four days, the village will be playing host to numerous activities.
A portion of the main street will be closed on the Saturday to house rows of craft stalls, gardens in the village will be opened to the public and there will be a disco, an exhibition of gowns and wedding dresses, a display of art and photography, book readings and discussion, a jazz jamboree, a wood turning display and a pheasant farm tour.
There will also be children’s games and entertainment, two of the village’s doctors giving a first aid demonstration, a nature trail, a scavenger hunt and a cricket match between the village side and London Erratics.
In addition there will be a barbecue at the pub and two performances of the Chilmark Amateur Dramatic Society’s revue Chilmark 2020.
