ASHES Hero Simon Jones and Australian pace man Jeff Thomson will be guests of honour at the grand opening of the new cricket ground in Bowerchalke next Sunday (June 27).
Chalke Valley Cricket Club will be playing a match against the Bunbury Cricket Club, the UK’s premier celebrity cricket team founded by impresario David English CBE. Also playing for the Bunbury XI will be batting legend Graeme Hick, former Aussie pace man Rodney Hogg, former England pace man Alan Mulally, as well as New Zealand test and one-day star, Lou Vincent, and current Somerset stars, Peter Trego, Joss Butler and James Hildreth, along with Alex Wakely, Liam Dawson and Ben Howgego from Northants.
