TEN jobs are feared to have been axed after Shrewton haulier Cassels Transport lost a major contract.
One of the haulier’s main contracts with UK Pallets is said to have broken down, leaving the company with no option but to let drivers go and sell off part of its fleet.
The contract, for the Bournemouth, Poole, Swindon, Salisbury, Andover areas, is now thought to have been moved temporarily to Dodcombe Haulage in Downton.
The company, which also offers warehousing at its base at the back of Rollestone Camp, and crane-assisted haulage, would not confirm or deny that ten staff had been let go.
But a spokesman for UK Pallets confirmed to the Journal that the contract had been moved.
